"Message from the President"

Dear Colleagues

I trust that everyone had relaxing and enjoyable holidays. It is common to think that we are now in our downtime as the holidays have ended and things are settling back into a routine again, but for those of us in the early childhood field this can be an exciting time. The state legislative session kicking into gear means several things for us as professionals who serve the families of New Mexico. I encourage everyone to find out what is happening, how it affects your families personally, and even attend some sessions with us. I understand this can be an intimidating experience if you don’t know what to expect or do, but I promise that if you arrange to go with us or testify for us, there will be someone there to walk you through every step of the way. Our lobbyist Linda Seigle is exceptional at answering any questions you may have and offering her support, as well as our board members.

As I head into the next three years as president I look forward to building on the wonderful foundation that this organization has established. We want to build membership and activity in all areas of the state. We are always looking to encourage and develop those who are passionate about the children and the families they serve. We want to know what you need to build your organization into an excellent program for your families no matter where you are or the size of your program. Therefore, feel free to contact us with needs or questions and we will do what we can to help you.

I am excited to meet & continue working with all of you. This organization has been an inspiration to me as I have been working on my own passion of serving families through high quality programming. Let’s head into 2007 with a renewed dedication for our careers.
